The Esplanade Trail - To the bay. Okanagan Lake Penticton KayakLog:10/29/2013

The Esplanade Trail part of the South/East corner of the Okanagan Lake has an awesome quiet little bay where you can easily pull a canoe or kayak up to relax and listen to the birds, go for a hike, or just kick back and soak up the sunshine. Summertime this area is lush with green leaves, come Autumn it is just golden. Far too many photos to post here so I made a video slideshow below.

What do you do in Autumun? Get out and paddle while the powerboats are on drydock!

Even though Summer is over and we are well into the Fall season with Winter just around the bend.

Stay warm, dress warm and come on out for a paddle. 

The lake water in the South Okanagan is still soft ;-) (we have no ice yet) and waiting for you to put the first ripples on them. The noisy power boats are mostly on drydock and the lakes are wide open. Here are some shots of ShuswapKayaks and KAYAKokanagan on November 6th 2012. Fall is here, sadly though..

Our lawn is green as can be and the sun continues to shine here in the South Okanagan Valley with the odd part day of smoke from near by forest fires in Peachland and Okanagan Falls. Sad to say but there are some leaves falling off our trees here in Penticton, BC Canada. We have had an extended Summer or Indian Summer (or more politically correct term "Native American Fall Warming Period") this year. Longer than normal sunshine and temps above 20c and hitting near 30c during the day but nights are getting cooler. For the past 4 weeks there has been mostly sunshine.. almost constant sunshine, even though some leafy trees are changing and beginning to fall. My kayaking is starting to dwindle down but will still be paddling on and off all Fall & Winter. 

 Almost time to think of blowing out the irrigation and empting our water fountain then plan some short Fall/Winter kayaking day trips.

 

Looking forward already for spring to come again LOL
