Except for PWC (personal water craft ie: jet-skis, seadoo) there is no law in Canada that says you have to wear a life jacket or PFD aboard a boat. The law only requires that vessels must have a Canadian approved device of the appropriate size for each person on board. You are REQUIRED to have a PFD aboard your water craft for each person aboard. Gov.of Canada RECOMMENDS that you wear a PFD. FYI: a RECOMENDATION is not a law. REQUIRED is a law. Guy
