"Heatwave" - 34c at Skaha Lake Penticton - Kayaking Log: 7/22/2013

"Heatwave" Penticton, Temp was at 34c at Skaha Lake this evening at sunset as we watched 8 kayakers go by.

The month of July so far has been hot hot hot!

Reminds be of the temperatures way back in the 1970's growing up here in Penticton. I remember the radio station (CKOK AM 800) saying "... here comes another heatwave.." almost every week. I remember almost every day of the summer was dry and hot 90 Fahrenheit  (32c) in the morning at 9:00am and 110 Fahrenheit (43.3c) by noon here. The radio station would also give the lake water temps and Skaha Lake was always about 2 or 3 degrees cooler than Okanagan Lake, which I could not figure out why as Okanagan Lake is far larger than Skaha. I always remembered watching and enjoying the Okanagan Sunsets all summer long.
